the terms used here is "a balanced sensory diet".....the book mentioned in earlier posts explains it very well, it even goes through what the day is like for a child experiencing sensory issues, so that you have some idea of what they are feeling, and it goes on to explain how to help them with certain sensory excercises.... helpful if you have a long wait to see an occupational therapist.... ;)

by the way, the "disorder" goes by a few names....Sensory Integration Disorder.... Sensory Integration Dysfunction.... Sensory Processing Disorder.... and a few other variations...... :)
